University of Edinburgh

We have a number of spaces that are available for hire throughout the year, across the University Estate. We are able to offer space for rehearsals or performances in venues including Assembly Hall on the Mound, Adam House (including basement theatre), George Square Theatre and St Cecilia’s Hall to name a few. We have also been able to use some interesting areas on the campus for site specific shows, such as classes, halls, corridors and even some of our outdoor spaces.

Introduction to the companyThe University of Edinburgh Festivals Office co-ordinates the University of Edinburgh's involvement in all Edinburgh's various festivals throughout the year. Working with major operators such as Pleasance Theatre, Underbelly, C Venues and Assembly Theatre, the office provides the main liaison with venues and co-ordinates activities with University staff as well as working on health and safety, licensing, security, parking, waste and contractual arrangements. Our office also deals with a number of filming requests (ranging from feature films to documentaries) where our extensive portfolio of historic buildings or unusual spaces provides a perfect setting for location managers.
