NEAT supports professional and voluntary promoters to hire professional theatre and dance touring productions who would be expected to produce material of a high artistic quality.
All bookings supported by NEAT must be with a company who are, or have recently been, funded by Creative Scotland, Arts Council England (ACE), Arts Council Wales (ACW) or equivalent funding partners, or be a fully professional company whose work is known or recommended by NEAT or partner organisations and drawing on international and national expertise.
NEAT will aspire to encourage and support a diverse programme of challenging and enjoyable work from a broad range of companies and artists from both within and out with Scotland.
NEAT will integrate all its artistic activities with the aims and intentions of the cultural, community and leisure development plans of the local authorities that it is in partnership with and Creative Scotland.
| Introduction to the company | NEAT is the only organisation which supports a year round programme of professional touring theatre and dance in North East Scotland outside the city of Aberdeen. We support a network of predominantly voluntary promoters based in Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City, Moray & Angus who present professional touring theatre and dance in village halls, community centres and rural arts centres. We stage upwards of 120 performances a year and are always looking for new innovative work suitable for a range of audiences. NEAT welcomes the opportunity to work collaboratively with companies to create work specifically for community venues. |
