Creative Assistant Bursary - Developing Emerging Directors

Introduction
Following the success of the original Assistant Director Bursary scheme in 2007/08, the FST is delighted to be rolling out the scheme for a third year, in association with the Scottish Arts Council. 16 bursary placements have been supported in years 1 and 2 of the programme and FST is in a position to offer further bursaries in 2009/10.

The Assistant Director Bursary Scheme is designed to support and nurture the professional creative development of individual artists by supporting a directorial attachment to an established Scottish theatre company. Through an evaluation of the experiences of those taking part in year one and in discussion with other creative practitioners, including choreographers and designers, FST has now broadened the scope of the bursary scheme.

Investing in Producing Skills - FST Producer Placement Programme

This placement programme is designed for those working across the range of producing roles from creative and commercial producers to project and general managers

Introduction
In 2008 FST developed an exciting programme designed to support and nurture the creative development of Scottish theatre producers. With further support from the Scottish Arts Council FST is delighted to be in a position to offer the opportunity for a second year in 2009/10. The programme focuses upon the professional creative development of individual practitioners and will support them to undertake bespoke CPD opportunities with established producers from the subsidised and commercial sectors across the world.

In a climate of shifting funding priorities and an increasing fluidity of artistic collaboration and cross-over, the role of the producer has become more important. Dynamic and sensitive producing skills are a much sought after commodity.
