Artists Open Meetings Wednesday, 10 October 2012

Details have now been confirmed for the two open meetings in October for artists to discuss arts & culture in Scotland. Andrew Dixon is expected to attend both meetings.

Following discussions with Creative Scotland, Jen McGregor is coordinating an artist led Open Space event to be held at Creative Scotland’s Waverley Gate office in Edinburgh on Friday 26th October from 10am to 7pm. As an open space event there's no chair, no agenda, no criteria for taking part. Anyone can call a discussion on an issue that matters to them. Discussions are written up as reports that are then made available online, so the conversation can continue even after the event itself is over.

The second event is being coordinated by Roanne Dods and will take place on Wednesday 31st October at Tramway in Glasgow from 10.30am to 5pm. This event will consider two proposed questions:

1.Where would you like arts and culture in Scotland to be in 10 years time?

2.What support structure would it take to make that happen now?

There will be presentations, provocations, inspirations from artists during the course of the day, and plenty of facilitated time for discussion and ideas. The structure will very loosely follow a World Cafe format.
