STEP UP is a skills development programme which gives senior leaders from across the performing arts sector – artistic, management, production, audience development, and education – mentoring skills to (1) support new managers in new roles and projects and (2) to enable mentors to support staff within their own organisation.

STEP UP was devised by Executive Coach and Artistic Director Paul Pinson, consultants and mentors Abigail Carney and Jane Hogg, in response to sector research which identified a need to support the skills development of the next generation of arts leaders. Since the scheme was launched in 2008 a total of 17 mentors have been trained and 37 mentees supported.

STEP UP mentor: There is no better reward than to see your mentee embrace opportunity and challenge themselves and know that you had something to do with that change in them.

STEP UP mentee: Speaking with an experienced person removed from my own workplace has helped me gain perspective on issues and consider fresh solutions that I might not have otherwise.

The programme will run from October 2010 to November 2011. Visit www.scottishtheatre.org. for mentor application forms. Closing date: 9th August 2010

Free Filming Offer from Enterprise Screen

Non-Profit Film Offer

As a multi-media and creative company Enterprise Screen is keen to broaden our work with charities and non-profit organisations. Until the end of September 2010, ESP are offering the chance to create a short film-product that can be used in a variety of settings with no charge for filming or pre-production.

We would welcome the opportunity to hear if you have any ideas of how this special offer could work for your organisation. It may be useful to consider a film to further the campaign for funds and support, inform service users and groups, lobby elected members or simply celebrate some of the successes of the past year. We are very experienced in covering live events, presentations and campaigns as well as making short, informative and engaging films for web, presentation and DVD use.

We work with many similar organisations currently and are experienced in bringing out the essence of what makes a charity special.
