Professional Doctorate in Applied Theatre – Open meetings Monday, 18 January 2010

The Professional Doctorate in Applied Theatre at the University of Manchester is aimed at experienced theatre practitioners who are seeking opportunities to reflect critically on their practice. This internationally unique programme will generate dynamic relationships between academic and professional environments in order to deepen and broaden understanding of theatre practice across diverse contexts.

We are holding some ‘open meetings’ for practitioners interested in finding out more about the Professional Doctorate in Applied Theatre. The meetings will include information relating to the background and development of ‘applied theatre’ at the University of Manchester, the specific aims and objectives of this Doctorate, its structure and content, and procedures for applications. There will also be an opportunity for prospective applicants to meet the staff working on the programme.

The meetings will be on the following days (please note - these are repeated versions of the same meeting, so please only plan to attend one):

Monday 7th December, 4 – 5.30pm
Wednesday 20th January, 4 - 5.30pm

Both will be held in room F20, Martin Harris Centre, University of Manchester. The Martin Harris Centre is number 42 on the campus map, available here - www.manchester.ac.uk/visitors/travel/maps/

If you would like to come along to a meeting, please e mail Jenny Hughes – jenny.hughes@manchester.ac.uk

If you are unable to attend either of these open meetings, and want to find out more about the programme or arrange an alternative time to visit the University, please contact Jenny Hughes – jenny.hughes@manchester.ac.uk

Free Filming Offer from Enterprise Screen

Non-Profit Film Offer

As a multi-media and creative company Enterprise Screen is keen to broaden our work with charities and non-profit organisations. Until the end of September 2010, ESP are offering the chance to create a short film-product that can be used in a variety of settings with no charge for filming or pre-production.

We would welcome the opportunity to hear if you have any ideas of how this special offer could work for your organisation. It may be useful to consider a film to further the campaign for funds and support, inform service users and groups, lobby elected members or simply celebrate some of the successes of the past year. We are very experienced in covering live events, presentations and campaigns as well as making short, informative and engaging films for web, presentation and DVD use.

We work with many similar organisations currently and are experienced in bringing out the essence of what makes a charity special.
