The first Made in Scotland showcase was presented at Fringe 2009 where a programme of 14 shows covering a range of artforms made their mark on the international stage that is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Made in Scotland 2009 was a resounding success. The quality of the programme and the individual productions made a significant impact on the festival scene. Critical reaction was fantastic with many of the Made in Scotland productions receiving awards.
This included:
Herald Angel Awards for Trilogy by Nic Green/ The Arches; Barflies by Grid Iron; Claire Cunningham for ME: Mobile/ Evolution and David Leddy for White Tea.
Fringe Firsts to Grid Iron, Barflies and David Leddy, White Tea.
Stage Awards for acting to Cora Bissett (Midsummer/ The Traverse) and Billy Mack (The Sound of My Voice/ The Citizens)
Tam Dean Burn’s Year of the Horse was shortlisted for the Amnesty International Human Rights Award.
David Leddy also received the Edinburgh International Festival fringe prize
