Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone carrying out arts education activities - principally theatre, dance or music – and will be relevant for anyone involved in the management or delivery of these activities either as a member of an arts organisation or a freelancer.
Aims
This course aims to provide delegates with an overview of likely health and safety requirements for carrying out theatre and arts education activities.
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
•Be able to demonstrate an understanding of
oLegal responsibilities for health and safety, including practitioners, freelancers, venue owners, schools and other organisations likely to be involved
oWhat a suitable and sufficient risk assessment would be for common arts education activities
•Be able to plan safe and healthy arts education activities, and in particular, carrying out:
oRisk assessments for common arts education activities
oPre-activity inspections at activity locations to identify and control common health and safety risks
